# Add a PDF

> Upload a manual or guide so answers can quote it.

## Upload a PDF

1. Open **Help center**.
2. Select **Add a new source**, then **Add a file**.
3. Choose a PDF up to 9 MB and select **Save**.

The file appears under **Sources**, in **Files**, right away. Reading it takes a moment; once it is done, search and answers can use it.

## How readers see it

When an answer cites your PDF, readers can open the file from the citation.

## How it counts

Each page of the PDF counts as one page toward your allowance. A 12-page PDF counts as 12 pages.

## Supported files

Upload PDFs. For text or Markdown, import the file into a new article instead.
